Serve with Heart
Volunteers are essential to Lionheart WORKS. Not only is the sharing of time and skills a wonderful way to support our goals, it also helps build a stronger, more connected Lionheart community. If you are a member of our extended community and would like to get involved, we’d love to have your support. We offer a wide range of support services to our adult participants to promote independence, inclusion, and overall well-being. We aim to create a space where adults feel engaged, valued, and motivated and we celebrate an inclusive and supportive community.
Individual Volunteers
Our volunteers help individuals with their vocational needs at community work sites and at Lionheart internal worksites, sometimes one on one and sometimes with groups. Coaches engage in group activities, work experiences, and social interactions. Our program matches volunteer job coaches with participants based on interests, needs, and availability. Our schedules are flexible!
Group Volunteers
Lionheart is fortunate to work with local companies who desire to have group volunteer activities for department or company-wide volunteerism. We welcome groups at The Lionheart School, at WORKS internal sites, and at the Lionheart Garden located in Canton. Please contact us for more information and to schedule volunteer outings.
Community Partners
Lionheart WORKS Community Partners include our amazing sponsors and donors as well as our phenomenal work sites. Our work sites include local businesses, civic groups, government entities, and non-profits who provide meaningful and sustainable volunteer opportunities, training, and employment opportunities for our participants.

Is previous experience working with individuals with disabilities necessary?
No! We welcome volunteers who want to create positive impacts in the community, those who want to lend a helping hand and make a difference. We seek volunteers who have compassionate hearts and willingness to learn.
What are common volunteer jobs and responsibilities?
Lionheart WORKS has several internal worksites for our participants. Common activities include art, woodworking, computer hardware and software installation, pottery, gardening, sewing, cooking, recreation, and indoor games. We welcome individuals who have the gift of organization and socialization. We also seek people to help support young adults at work sites in the community.
What is the time commitment?
Volunteer schedules are flexible. We appreciate the gift of your time. Some coaches volunteer every week on the same day and time, some volunteers substitute occasionally. Typical shifts are 9am-12pm and 1pm-3pm. We are open Monday through Friday.
